A leaking gutter runs water on to your brickwork over a prolonged period of time. Before you know it, the water has destroyed the pointing on the face of the bricks, allowed the water to penetrate the brickwork, bridged the cavity (this happens very quickly through solid brick walls), caused insurmountable damage to the inner face of your plaster/plasterboard and decorations and the cost to put all of this damage right is now very expensive. But, by thinking quickly (way back when the gutter first started leaking), had you had the foresight to ask us round to fix the problem at a minimal cost, you could have saved thousands of pounds.
